(More customer reviews)As far as I am aware, the only use for a real shammy is to dry your car after washing so as not to scratch the paint. Terry towels will put "spider web" scratches in your clear coat and shammy will not. Well for this purpose, the shamwow is greatly superior because of the fact that it is much more absorbent than a shammy.It does the job much more quickly than a shammy while not scratching the surface.I don't know about any of the other claims in the TV ad, but I guess to advertise this product as a superior auto shammy would not have generated the volume of sales that the product has gained thru the more sensational sales pitch. This product is much better than the micofiber towels that are sold in the auto accessory store, again, because of their superior absorbence.
